UK weather forecast: Brutal weather front ravages Britain with heavy showers and winds

Saturday will see a split across the country as the weather deteriorates across the south. Northern areas will experience sunny weather with plummeting temperatures, and the south will see warmer weather with torrential rain.

Showers will feed into western parts of Scotland in the morning.

Meanwhile, eastern Scotland will experience a clearer, drier start to the day.

However, accompanying those clear skies are cooler temperatures, with lows of 6C (42.8F) in the morning.

Further south, most the showers will travel in from the west.

But in those southern parts of England and Wales, there will be a cloudy and wet start to the day.

The south will suffer particularly because of a lingering weather front which will remain there for most of the weekend.

There will be bright, sunny spells across many central and northern parts of the UK.

Temperature-wise across some northern areas of England, particularly around Lincoln, there could be highs of 17C (62.6F).

“Further north, there will be some showers coming in from the west but also some clear skies, particularly across northern parts of England.

“As a result, it could turn quite chilly through Saturday night and Sunday.”

Sunday will be a wet and cloudy start across much of England and Wales.

But persistent rain could eventually clear away northeastwards.

Central and eastern parts of Scotland will still see some rain pushing thorough into the afternoon.

Elsewhere, there will be some bright, sunny spells but also quite a few showers pushing there way in for most areas.

Temperatures will be similar to Saturday.
