Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Batter up! It’s that time of year to take your clients out to the ballgame, and there is no better place for a baseball-focused vacation than spring break in Phoenix to soak up the sun and see the Cactus League in action.

The Valley of the Sun hosts 15 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, including the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and L.A. Dodgers. With all the stadiums located within 45-miles of each other, the Phoenix area is a mecca for baseball fans. The Cactus League runs February 21-March 27, 2018, which is a great way to enjoy the warm days, which are typically in the 70s and 80s, but also means it’s high season in terms of hotel pricing.

Luckily, many of the top resorts in town are offering special Cactus League packages.

Giant Baller at The Andaz

The Andaz Scottsdale is the official hotel of the San Francisco Giants and offers fans a chance to live large with the Suite Life Package. Guests will have overnight accommodations in the Albers or Girard House, (the two largest suites at the hotel), two tickets to a Giants game at Scottsdale Stadium, a $50 Uber gift card and a Spring Training prep kit that includes baseballs with a box of black sharpie markers, bags of peanuts, cracker jacks, bubble gum, bottle of sunscreen and bottled water. Prices start at $1,999 per night with a two-night minimum stay required.

Triple Play

The just-remodeled Royal Palms Resort and Spa is centrally located to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants’ home stadium and is offering the Triple Play Package this spring.

The package includes Estate room accommodations, one breakfast for two, and a $50 credit at the Alvadora Spa and at the highly acclaimed T. Cook’s restaurant. Rates start at $579 per night with a three-night minimum stay; must use promo code TPLAY to book.

Hit a Home Run

Retro chic Hotel Valley Ho in Old Town Scottsdale is offering its Home Run Package for Cactus League fans. The offer includes a $50 resort credit, baseball-themed amenity and a complimentary room upgrade (based on availability). Everyone who books the package is automatically entered to win a three-night summer stay at the resort. For stays in March, guests can also combine the package with a fourth-night-free option and a 15 percent discount for pre-payment. The package must be booked by February 28, 2018.

The hotel’s new sister property, Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley, is offering the same Home Run package, including a contest to win a summer stay. That package also must be booked by February 28, 2018

This includes a $25 spa and $25 food and beverage credit, no resort fee and complimentary craft beers, peanuts and caramel corn before or after the game. The package is valid for stays Sunday-Thursday.

Small and intimate, the Hermosa Inn is tucked into a Paradise Valley neighborhood and will let you live like a local during your time in town. The Play Ball package includes a luxurious casita, welcome amenity, two welcome cocktails and a $25 daily food and beverage credit. Rates start from $439 plus resort fee.

The Scott Resort & Spa (Formerly the Kimpton FireSky) offers a Spring Training Survival Kit for every guest staying at the hotel during the season. The kit includes breakfast for two at The Canal Club, two complimentary cocktails, Cracker Jacks, sunflower seeds, one baseball, one sharpie and a bottle of sunscreen for the game. There is also an opportunity to enjoy a 60-minute batting practice session for an additional $60.

Unplug and Play

While the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia doesn’t have a spring training package per se, they are offering savings if you begin your baseball vacation on a Sunday. Guests arriving on that day will enjoy a 10 percent savings for a one-night stay, 20 percent on two-nights and 30 percent off on three-nights.

Family Deal
