‘Surprise!’ Prince William and Professor Green join forces in shock appearance at school

The Duke of Cambridge, 35, and Professor Green, 34, walked on stage to cheers and applause.

And the unlikely duo were special guests at a school assembly at Burlington Danes Academy, West London on cyberbullying and mental health.

Both men have long campaigned to break the taboo surrounding mental health and are known for their efforts to combat bullying.

Kensington Palace said in a statement on Twitter: “Surprise! The Duke of Cambridge and @professorgreen were special guests today at a school assembly on cyberbullying and mental health hosted by YouTuber @danielhowell.”

Band The Vamps were also in on the surprise as part of the Heads Together initiative and #StopSpeakSupport campaign by Professor Green.

Professor Green, also known as Stephen Manderson, said: “A brilliant morning with HRH Duke of Cambridge with the students of Burlington Dane Academy discussing mental health and cyber bullying – the correlation between both and how we can all be a bit kinder to one another.”

, his wife the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry launched the Heads Together campaign last year.

Prince William’s appearance comes just hours before he is due to attend an awards ceremony celebrating young people who have turned their lives around after experiencing homelessness.

The Centrepoint Awards – run by the youth homelessness charity of the same name – will take place at Kensington Palace on Thursday evening.

For more than a decade William has been a patron of the organisation, which provides physical and mental health support to homeless 16-25 year-olds to people in London,

Manchester, Sunderland and Yorkshire, and through partner charities across the UK.

The awards, which are being held for the third time, will see seven young people recognised for their efforts in personal development, sport and education.
