Sebastian Vettel gives AGITATED Lewis Hamilton answer over Charles Leclerc issue

The four-time F1 world champion was allowed past Charles Leclerc at the Chinese Grand Prix.

But Vettel was unable to prove he was faster and actually held up the Ferrari youngster.

However the Prancing Horse didn’t revert to the previous positions clearly backing the German as their lead driver.

And asked whether team orders were the best way to win a title, Vettel angrily responded saying: “I don’t know, ask maybe Lewis.

“Mercedes has been in a very different situation.

“It’s not the first time we’ve seen something like that. As Mattia [Binotto] said we tried to do everything as a team.

“Two weeks ago [in Bahrain], Charles was faster. And it was quite straightforward and maybe a bit easier to pass.

“I think the upsetting thing after the race is we didn’t manage to finish third and fourth.

“I want to be ahead of Charles, he wants to be ahead of me.

“Not keen to expand much further because it’s always a bit difficult, especially what you [the media] make out of the answer.”

Ferrari were trounced in Shanghai as Lewis Hamilton won for the second straight race.

Valtteri Bottas was second with Sebastian Vettel a distant third.

That means Hamilton leads the standings after three races and is already 31 points clear of his Ferrari rival.

F1 returns with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, April 28.

Hamilton won the race last season and will want a repeat of his performance to underline his challenge for the 2019 title.
