Conor McGregor: UFC star's case lasts less than TWO minutes, next hearing set for July 26

Earlier this afternoon, the former UFC lightweight champion appeared at Kings County Criminal Court in Brooklyn charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief for his actions at the UFC 223 media day.

The charges were levelled McGregor’s way after he and his friends attacked a bus at the Barclays Center, with the Irishman throwing a dolly through one of the vehicle’s windows.

McGregor’s antics left his fellow fighters Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg with facial and eye injuries respectively.

The s poster boy, who hasn’t graced the Octagon in 19 months, appeared before a judge with his accomplice Cian Cowley.

And to the shock of all the media in attendance, the hearing lasted less than two minutes as the pair’s lawyers revealed they’re still trying to negotiate a plea deal.

McGregor and Cowley, 29 and 25 respectively, will next appear in court July 26.

The former UFC lightweight champion addressed his actions shortly after leaving the arena, saying: “I regret my actions that led me here today.”

“I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful that it gets resolved soon. Thank you.”
